On September 21, 2011, David Roberts participated in The National Climate Seminar, a series of webinars sponsored by Bard College’s Center for Environmental Policy. The online seminars provide a forum for leading scientists, writers, and other experts to talk about critical issues regarding climate change. The series also opens a public conversation, inviting participants to ask questions and contribute their own thoughts.
Roberts is a Senior Staff Writer at Grist, one of the web’s mpopular sites for environmental news and commentary, so he is distinctively qualified to discuss the relationship between global warming, politics, and the media. In his lecture, Roberts argued that environmentalists’ traditional criticism of climate change coverage—namely that journalists describe global warming as a debatable theory rather than as fact—is no longer the issue. Mmedia accept the reality of climate change—but it is treated as a specialty issue, rather than as a phenomenon that affects myriad aspects of life. The seminar focused on how to change that perception—how to make climate a backdrop to the political debates that affect real change.
This E-ssentialis an edited version of Roberts’ talk and the subseququestion and answer session. While some material has been cut and some language modified for clarity, the intention was to retain the substance of the original discussion.

I was looking forward in reading your book but the content was missing. I will update my review when there is something to read.*UPDATE*

Review:
OK onto the review. I must say i'm extremely disappointed in the content and presentation of the material. I was expecting to read about why scientists believe Global Warming/Climate Change is real. Instead 95% of the content is political i.e. Left vs Right, Tea Party, Solyndra, and how the media should condition people to believe Global Warming is real. Well if you can't present facts or build a case why Global Warming is real then why bother involving the Media to condition the opposition.
I'll admit that the climate is changing, but present the facts on why you scientifically believe GW or CC is real. I'd much rather see facts showing why we need to understand, the need to say, "Houston we have a problem". Instead the book dealt exclusively with everything but that and it was nothing more than us vs them. It was more a collectivist or community organizer approach which is political rather than scientific.
That does nothing for your argument and in fact validates the claims from the Right that Global Warming and Climate Change is BS. So i'm open for a scientific study and for facts as to why this is real, what the future will be like 20-35 years in the future with dissenting facts from the opposition? What I don't care for is a waste of time making your case as to why the media needs to condition the public because the problem with that is the Media is now seen as a propaganda arm for the Government aka "Government Media Complex".

Short read about the mindset of believers vs nonbelievers rather than any actual information on climate change, but interesting nonetheless.
